Because their consciences would not allow them to eat meat that was sacrificed to Idols nor that was not slaughtered according to the laws of the Torah.The wine also was not prepared correctly.So in keeping God's commandments they pleased Him and were spared their lives for the love they showed and the courage they displayed.They are a very good example to us even today ,of true devotion and dedication
