How would decorate a home that is about 200 years old?

I think it is about finding the happy medium between what goes with the style of the house and your style. For example I would hate to walk into an old Victorian house and see an ultra mod/steel look, it would just feel wrong. On the other hand it's your home and where you are suppose to feel comfortable so you need to put your style into it as well. Keep in mind though that if you don't plan to stay there forever and will sell one day, don't change anything that can't be put back because future owners may not like the look. Just find your style while doing the house justice.
