I have a question about Capitalization, help?

In this case, Dad is serving as a name. It's a personal noun. You could replace Dad with any other name like Dave, Tom, Henry, etc. My mom and our grandmother are not names in this case because of the personal "my" and "our." You can't say "my Dave" or "our Henry." It's kind of confusing, but I hope this helps.
