What is the appropriate way to acknowldege the death of a co-worker's parent?

The father of woman I work with ped away this last week. I do like this co-worker very much, and I think I should respond in some way. She's rather private and I don't want to organize a card to go around the office or anything. What are some suggestions on sending my condolences?
